The Dad-Ventures ship tightened its sails today and made the long voyage to the vibrant café that is “Daydreamers”. Located in Beaconsfield this establishment is sure to bring excitement to all of your senses. As my first-mate Ash and I were shown to our seats I couldn’t help but feel oddly relaxed. The beautiful pastel colored walls and purposely placed foliage surrounded our dining area and complimented each piece of furniture, which embodied all things Day Dreamy.
To begin our brunch adventure, we ordered the Nutella Milkshake, which we knew would definitely set the standard for how the rest of our experience would turn out. The mountainous milkshake was textured to perfection and blended well with the Nutella. Many things can go wrong when breaking down Nutella into Milkshake textures however Daydreamers have perfected this to provide customers with a smooth, fluffy and balanced taste that just tastes “right.” The coffee was equally as appealing and I enjoyed a long black which was rich and crisp in flavor.
Before long it was time to enjoy the food that was so deliciously described in its very breakfast oriented menu. I opted for the Mushroom Madness and Ash decided on the Trio Cheeseburger. Firstly, when these dishes reached our table, I was immediately hit with the pop of bright color that personified the food on our plates. Each dish that seemed to leave the kitchen was brighter and richer than the next. Coupled with the elegance of the plate presentation I felt a sudden urge to walk over to the kitchen and give out a round of high fives. It is certainly clear that the chef(s) are proud of their produce and are putting love and perfection into every single thing that they are serving.
The Mushroom Madness was flavorsome and boasted at least three different types of mushroom. The hummus, avocado and fetta were generously spread however placed in a way which didn’t affect the crunchy toast. Time and time again I’ve had over zealous brunch ingredients which leave my toast soggy with sadness, but not at Day Dreamers!
The Trio Cheeseburger simply put “was from top to bottom…perfect.” The sweet seeded brioche bun was lightly toasted and crisp which complimented the fresh and colorful condiments inside. The lettuce was bright and the pickled onions sweet which shows the freshness of ingredients used here. The Angus Beef was perfectly grilled and didn’t fall apart at all. The bacon jam really gave the burger a sweet smoky taste which oozed “brunch burger.” The Swiss, American and Chedder cheeses didn’t overpower the rest of the burger and only added to the great taste. The thick cut chips were lightly salted and awesomely crunchy.
